Invitation to Collaboration

Themed around the simple prompt of collaboration, a group of seven artists created a total of nine artworks which spanned several media and all had a level of interactivity for the viewer. Maya Cohen and Michelle Zhang's piece "The Means of Enchantment" was an inciting action for this exhibition, as their donation of the collaborative work to the gallery was what informed the theme decision. Nancy Dewhurst's peice "Left Hand Turn" was also contributed soon after, which was later exhibited as an exhibition space in itself for the poem "Remember Me" by Freyja Fölger. In this iterative way, all of the pieces developed their collaborative aspects, building on each other and growing during each day of the exhibition as visitors added to them. The final day culminated in the the last purely singular piece, an untitled piece by Petra Klabunde, which consisted of a decorated closed beer bottle, being consumed by the host in a small performance, also untitled.
